THE ISSUES

Concerns With the Current System

Since APU was implemented, pilots have raised a variety of concerns regarding its operation.

Among the issues discussed within the pilot group are:

  • Whether all pilots receive trip opportunities at the same time.

  • Whether inconsistent notification timing affects equal opportunity.

  • Whether the current system provides a true first-come, first-served process.

  • Whether technology has created advantages that were never contemplated when the contractual language was negotiated.

  • Whether the current implementation reflects the original purpose and intent of the agreement.

Recent communications from APA have acknowledged concerns regarding implementation, including inconsistent message delivery and the need to evaluate potential improvements. The Company has also reminded employees of its policies regarding login credentials and the use of third-party technologies.

While these communications represent important developments, many questions remain unanswered.

Why This Matters

Trust is essential to any scheduling system.

Every pilot should have confidence that opportunities are awarded through a process that is fair, transparent, understandable, and consistently applied.

Whether the ultimate solution is technical improvements, contractual changes, or an entirely different approach, those decisions should be based on facts, objective evidence, and open discussion—not assumptions or speculation.

Our Goal

The purpose of this website is simple:

  • Document objective evidence.

  • Present verified information.

  • Encourage respectful discussion.

  • Promote fairness and transparency.

  • Support meaningful improvements to Aggressive Pick-up.

If it is ultimately demonstrated that Aggressive Pick-up can operate fairly, transparently, and consistently with the intent of the contract, that outcome benefits every pilot.

If it cannot, then the contractual provision itself deserves thoughtful reconsideration.

Regardless of where each pilot stands on APU, we believe everyone benefits from a process that earns the confidence of the pilots it serves.
